Santander Nook
Solution to aid mortgage supplier maintain communication throughout fixed period

Santander nook
Conceptual app that bridges the communication gap between mortgage supplier and home owner.
Why
A need for Santander to have soft contact with mortgage customers during their fixed term. As that term comes to an end build conversation about renewing.
Challenge
Limited mortgage details to show and if it’s a fixed term there’s going to be little in the way of interesting content to explore. Although commissioned by Santander they wanted us to create a stand alone identity. Also, what would encourage people to engage with their mortgage supplier.
Solution
Creation of an app that utilises new technologies, pushing the devices features to make the home owning experience a better one. Allowing Santander to be a helping hand during what can be a stressful time.
Questions
Illustrating wireframes, generating questions and looking at all options before speaking with the stakeholders. Important to understand the mindset of the home owner and gauge the level of communication required by Santander.
Joining Dots
Hand drawing journeys (failing fast!) before moving on to the computer to create wireframes.

The Hook
A welcome basket for every new home owner would be the first thing they see as they walk through the door. Filled with items like tea, coffee, chocolates and two Tile keyrings along with instructions to help entice people to download the app.

Registering
The app would launch via a unique URL or QR code that only the people given it would have access to. This would be necessary to personalise the app to the individuals home. Upon launching they will be presented with the option to register to confirm private details.

Home
Once signed in to the app you are presented with a simple, clear home page navigation with visual and descriptive calls to action.

Plan Rooms
Using available data to generate room plans from home reports with measurements and options to edit. Adding to the plan with furniture to aid layout, adding images to help with the look of the room.

Room Measurements
Room measurements generated where possible from the home report (height might need to be added manually) to give useful and time saving information for each room.

To Do Lists
Generating a To Do List by room, from the home report with the ability to add, edit and complete.

Get The Look
Create the perfect look for each room using Pinterest with options to share with friends, partners or house mates. The looks can also be pinned to the room plan.

Navigation
Each section would have specific options like adding notes and measurements to a plan or direct messaging users sharing the app.
Future
User Groups
Due to this being a concept I would take steps to further understand the users. Work out if this would be a useful product, what worked and what could be done better.
Map
Create a full map of the app, the different services on offer, the APIs that might be used like Ikea or Argos with their furniture databases.
Prototype
Build a prototype to test the functionality with real users before refining, updating and moving forward to work on design.
